New Book: A Child's Way

This book written by Jeannie Battagin is designed to provide inspiration, support and specific resources for creating and sustaining the practice of Christian Meditation among children, from first grade through to the eighth grade. Her spiritual journey and specifically practice of Christian Meditation has been influenced by an inner calling to teach children this form of prayer. This book is particularly useful for teachers, parents and grandparents who feel the call to teach Christian Meditation to children.

The Christian understanding of Jesus as the Word made flesh transforms the way we see our own humanity and also the natural world we are part of. "Nothing that is not against nature is against Christ" (Clement of Alexandria) - this liberating insight has to be more courageously embraced in our own time so that the mystery of Christ can become fully transformative. But this is not only a theological project. It begins - and finds its culmination - at the deeply personal level of experience. And this is why meditation in our own tradition is such a blessing and necessity - it opens us to the mystery of the inner Christ and to the cosmic Christ simultaneously. Our daily meditation leads us to self-knowledge and also gives us new words with which to understand and communicat the Word itself.

Silence in the City with subtitles in seven languages

Probably mostly people already know the video Silence in the City - Young Christian Meditators' Stories (A short film about Christian Meditation by Claire Morgan, from Australia).

So, the good news about it is that we have been able to subtitled the video in English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish. We are very grateful with all volunteers that have been collaborating.

We looked at Evagrius’ division of the spiritual life into the ‘praxis’ and ‘theoria’. Let us concentrate for a moment longer on ‘Praxis’. We must not forget that our spiritual growth depends both on grace and effort. Grace was paramount for Evagrius , but effort was also important.
